Concise Review: Absorption and Transport of Iron Namýk Özbek Department of Pediatrics, Baskent University, Ankara, Turkiye. Iron is an essential element for humans like many other living organisms. Both insufficient and increased amounts of iron result in disease. In this concise review, absorption, transport, and cellular metabolism of iron will be discussed.
