Semen of two cross bred (Sahiwal and Fresian) and one Sahiwal cow bull was used in this study. Bull wise and ejaculate wise bacterial count was recorded after diluting the semen samples in Lactosefructose, egg yolk extender. Gentamicin at a dose rate of 0.00, 50.00, 250.00 and 500 g/ml was added to four fractious of each semen sample. The significant difference was observed in bacterial count between bulls and ejaculates. It was concluded that gentamicin 500 g/ml is very effective in controlling the bacterial microflora of cow bull semen. Keywords: Gentamicin, bacterial count, semen.
